Painting on glass: the process

On this tag, you could see a bit of how traditional glass it's painted.

This sample is a reproduction of a very traditional western icon.

For this work I am using the traditional technique of glass paint. So, several layers of paint mixed with difernt mediums are added to the glass. On this sample this piece of glass has been fired three times, in different stages.

On the inner side of the glass we have all the paint (in this case, mixed with vinager and lavander oil), and on the back side of it, a thin layer of an opaque enamel, in order to give some support and consistency to the image.
